What You CAN Do With a Tampon
We’re constantly hearing about all the things we, as women, can’t do with a tampon in or while we’re on our period for that matter. Believe it or not, your monthly period really doesn’t need to be a hindrance on your personal or professional life. Here is a refreshing list of things that you actually CAN do with a tampon and while you have a tampon in your body.
Can you exercise? Yes!
Exercising while you’re on your period is an absolute DO. There is ton’s of research that shows that exercise can relieve PMS cramping, discomfort, bloating, and general moodiness that surrounds your monthly period. Check out some of our favorite yoga poses for PMS to get started.
Can you pee with a tampon in? Yeah girl!
Not sure where this rumor originated, but you don’t have remove a tampon to urinate. If you’re wondering if you can pee with a tampon in, the answer is a resounding YES.
Can you sleep with a tampon in? Uh huh.
You can sleep with a tampon in, but don’t forget to plan ahead. It’s not a great idea to change your tampon a couple hours before bed and then ride it out all night long. If you’re going to sleep with your tampon in, change your tampon right before bed, and as soon as you wake up in the morning.
Can you poop with a tampon in? You know it!
Although admittedly sometimes it just feels better to take it out. A popular Buzzfeed article raised the question of whether women changed their tampon every time they went Number 2, and doctors weighed in saying that it really came down to a personal preference, but “even in the absence of tampons, we don’t see bowel movements leading to [vaginal] infections.” Good to know.
Can you just go on living your life? Yes, girl, yes.
Unless you’ve branded yourself with a Scarlet Period, no one can tell if you’re menstruating. As long as you’re changing your tampon or pad, and of course bathing, regularly you can go on girl-bossing as normal. Nothing to see here.
Got a question for the Kali Girls? We’d love to hear from you!
